Fireproofing Location:Innside Hotel - Liverpool
Task:
Install Fireproofing and apply Intumescent Coatings in all Risers and Lift Shafts using Industrial Rope Access
Project Overview:
Our client Fire Integrity were tasked with the installation of all Fire Stopping / Fire Proofing on the project including all Lift Shafts and Service Risers.
The safest and most cost effective way was to use a Rope Access team as the shafts and risers ran from L18 to Basement Level 4 - 22 Floors.
Our rope access team utilised a combination of structural steel anchorages and portable deadweight anchor systems to gain access to 5 x Service Risers and 1 x Lift Shaft.
Our team carried out a combination of BATT Installation, Fireproof Mastic Sealing and Airless Spraying of Intumescent Coatings on the steelwork within the lift shafts and risers. Full video and picture surveys were presented to the client upon completion of the works to enable them to provide evidence that the works have been carried out and the building was safe for occupancy.
All systems were rigged for rescue and our teams remained in constant radio communication. Should there have been an unforeseen incident the operative working on the ropes could be lowered or hauled to safety without the requirement of another Rope Access Technician entering the space due to the enclosed nature of the spaces.
Our teams were able to work in a self sufficient manner without causing disruption to other ongoing works on a busy site. The overall client MAC Group were so impressed by our attitude towards safety and the professionalism of our teams that they requested us back to carry out a high level glazing replacement.
